Powrie Appleby was established in Leicester in 1999. Its founders were a former KPMG tax partner and director who saw the opportunity to create a free-thinking tax practice, unencumbered by the limitations inherent in larger firms. The business they created has forged a reputation both locally and nationally as an exceptional provider of cutting edge tax solutions, staffed by highly competent and accomplished tax experts.

“Exceptional” is a word with two meanings. To be “exceptional” means to be different, or, alternatively, to be better. In the case of Powrie Appleby, both definitions apply: Powrie Appleby is different from other advisers and, according to its clients, it is better too.

The firm has travelled quite some distance since the days when it worked from the founding partner’s kitchen table. The current workforce of almost thirty dedicated tax professionals and support staff is a collection of open-minded and vocal individuals of all ages and levels of experience, united by a passion for tax advisory work.
