Jackie Anderson - ACA, CTA
Jackie studied law at university, and subsequently qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1990 and a Chartered Tax Adviser in 1993. She has worked with a number of leading chartered accountancy firms since 1987, and has been specialising in tax since 1993. She has gained experience in the fields of both tax compliance and tax planning, in UK and international matters, working with both personal and corporate clients of all sizes. She joined Powrie Appleby in February 2004 and specialises in providing tax planning advice. Jackie enjoys watching and playing various sports.
Zoe Andrews - BA(Hons)
Zoe worked for Powrie Appleby for two years work experience before going on to study History & Politics at the University of Liverpool, graduating in 2007. After having worked as the PA to the CEO of an international corporation, Zoe realized that her real interest still resided in tax and returned to the profession as a trainee corporate tax adviser in 2008. Zoe rejoined Powrie Appleby in 2009 as part of the advisory team, in particular the implementation of inheritance tax and corporation tax planning.
Zoe is currently studying for her ATT qualifications and is currently gaining on-hand experience within the private client team.

Zoe enjoys technical research for one-off problem solving and in her spare time enjoys keeping active, boxing and jet-skiing, as well as the occasional night out.
Karen Collins - ACA, CTA
Karen has been working in tax since 1997, after 7 years as an accountant/auditor. She did her tax training with KPMG; working in their Vancouver office for 3 years before joining Powrie Appleby LLP in 2003. Karen is a manager in the Private Client Team and, when she isn’t running around after her children, she enjoys eating, aerobics classes, cooking, camping and eating! She also prides herself in being the only member of the firm who can distinguish an Airbus from a Boeing. Who says accountants are boring!!?
As a manager in the Private Client Team, Karen deals with all aspects of personal tax – including work on tax returns and ad hoc queries. Karen has experience in both corporate and personal tax matters and as such, is able to get involved in a number of different areas. Having spent a number of years dealing with the implementation of tax planning strategies, she understands the processes very well. She also deals with company secretarial matters and accounting for a number of small companies, and has significant experience of dealing with resolution of HMRC enquiries.

Karen has a BA (Hons) degree in Accounting and Management Control, is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales, and the Chartered Institute of Taxation.
